glebe residence

this project involved the opening up the back of the brick terrace in order to better utilise the rear courtyard area from which there are spectacular views of the city.

this required the whole of the house excepting the front two rooms to be knocked down in order to move the kitchen and bathroom from the rear to the centre of the house.

the emphasis was to increase the amount of natural light reaching the centre of the house, increase natural ventilation and to create an internal/external courtyard to highlight an extraordinary sandstone wall running the length of the boundary.
the result is a unique and functional house flooded with natural light and ventilation.
